The range of possible uses for this software is enormous however it must be kept running hot in the foreground on my iPad 2. For many uses that wont be an issue but it would be nice to be able to stay live when in the background. For $3.99 AirBeam provides a lot of value to me.

Finding Mac supported web cam (at a reasonable price) was a problem for me, this setup works well to keep an eye on my pets on the patio while I work. iPad streams to my laptop, I havent tried enabling web support. The one thing Id like to see added would be the ability to define the area to capture motion within, I get a lot of false positives with the wind blowing stuff around.

Very limited. The screen quality, picture & movie shots are great. If you use any web browser, the live video is clear UNLESS you use their App on your MAC! It’s just terrible. As I said, it’s limited. A schedule would be great. Also, the fonts for date & time stays the same big size which doesn’t fit / show up properly. Here’s hopping developers will take note and provide an update.

this app though appealing is to good rot be true. It is constantly crashing and becoming a pain to use

I think it would be handy if you added the video+flash option, aka recording a video while constantly having the iphone’s flash on.

I like the app, but it would be better if you could use your macs camera and microphone to record anytthing in your house while your gone. And have your iPhone, iPod, iPad, etc. to view it not just only on the mac. Since you use your phone and its more portable. Just saying, this could make this app better.

The huge problem is the text: "Seeing or hearing something on Airbeam you want to remember? Just press the video record and it will be recorded." Yeah, well thats crap as it just triggers are remote record, not a record on the viewer as implied. The point for me is recording remotely away from the camera. If that is what you want, this doesnt deliver at all. This acts like it has a smart app (e.g., the one downloaded here) but it is just a remote control/forwarding of a screen/audio. Yeah, its "beaming" all right but to a beam viewer, a dumb window. Worthless and rip off.

I spent four dollars on this on my iPod and my Mac and it will not connect to each other. Huge waste. Do not get it

I had some difficulty connecting too but I email the developer and he responded quickly with a number of helpful tips and advice. I really appreciate that kind of support.

It works well, plus Im also happy for the fact that I got it free on my ipod and mac. besides that, it has a slight video lag but thats reasonable. But great way to catch my brother when he is playing games when he is not allowed to(: Motion detector seems to work...

This is a cool app but it would be cool if you could have the mac recording and streaming it to my idevice instead just streaming from the idevice to the mac.

starts off working but then suddenly stops for no reason (no problems with the network it was using). Without reliability it is less than useful for me. It was a great idea and I hope they refine it more in the future.

This is a great app even for 4 buck for the iPhone app part. Downloaded on my mac and then my iPhone 4, fired it up worked like a champ right away. Not so long ago, tech like this would cost you thousands of dollars.

Download the server, buy the app, install both, go. Thats it, seriously. I had a streaming remote video camera set up on my iPhone 4 in less than 2 minutes of discovering this product. A few minutes later Im also viewing the video on my iPad. Little more tinkering (firewalls and such) and the whole thing is completely mobile and I can be anywhere on my iPad watching the video from my spare iPhone 3 that is now my surveillance cam. The app could use some minor improvements, but Im sure theyll come over time. Here are some specific suggestions for improvement: 1. Timestamping - Add some sort of timestamp (more precise is better) to the receiving end, and to recordings. 2. "LIVE" feed indication - SInce the video is so clean, it is often difficult to tell if the remote is even working. A positive indicator such as a green light or the word "LIVE" on the client side would help. Of course the indicator would need to track the transmission state and not just presume that the feed is live just because there is "some signal". Ive had the video stop (alert interruptions, sleep, etc.) yet the iPhone remains visible in the server display and the video window remains visible as well. 3. Option to disable sleep and screensaver on device. 4, Option to "lock focus" or at least disable autofocus seeking, which messes up the movement dection feature quite often. OVERALL: This server/app combo rox sox and everyone that even thinks they might want a webcam type thing should get it.

At its simplest you just launch it on two devices, click "camera" one one and monitor" on the other. I have yet to get the app to create a steady stream of video without delays, pauses and corruption, but it is effective enough that I use it to re-aim the satellite dish when the horses or weather tweak it off a few degrees. Point the iPhone at the TV in camera mode and take the iPad outside in monitor mode and I can watch the signal strength while outside adjusting the dish. Given the drain on the battery I can not see using this as a security or long term thing, only for quick little tasks like this.

I like being able to connect my iPhones camera to my computer now I can put it by the window and use it as a security camera, or watch my pets from work. Everybody should have Air Beam.

Great way to check on the dog, kids or burglar.

This app is AWESOME. Ive always wanted a security camera, but never wanted to pay hundreds of dollars for one. Now I have one for just $.99!!! Woohoo!
